Where does our data come from?
The results of your criminal background check are based on RCMP’s Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) system. The candidates must declare their criminal record information which will be compared by a police service to the information in the National Criminal Records Repository.

Frequently asked questions
How do we make sure your private information is handled properly?
Your privacy is at the top of our priority, which is why every piece of information we collect is encrypted and kept in a confidential platform which the access to is restricted. All our team members must undergo a complete background screening and are bound by a confidentiality agreement.
What are the factors to consider before sending a request?
- The candidate must be over 18 years old
- This verification does not include Vulnerable Sector Checks and is not accepted for immigration or visa application
We encourage you to verify the requirements of the organization you want to submit the background screening before starting the verification process.
How does the Electronic Consent work?
The candidate will receive an email including a secured link to the consent form to fill out. To confirm their identity, the candidate will have to answer four questions about their personal credit file. This technology is called E-ID verifier, a product of Equifax, which is also used by banks.
This verification is categorized as a soft check which means there is no impact on the credit score. It’s important to mention that we do not have access to the information of the candidate’s file with this product.
N.B. If the security questions are failed, the candidate will have to contact our technical support at 1-800-318-8855
What will my criminal background check show?
The Police Certificate will indicate one of the three following options:
- Negative: Candidate has no criminal offense in Canada for which he/she was convicted
- Incomplete: The information reported by the applicant does not match the information in the CPIC database or the applicant did not complete all the information requested on the declaration form
- Confirmed: Candidate has reported all criminal offences and the RCMP confirms this is consistent with the database
This verification is based on the declaration the candidates must make at the beginning of the process and the results indicate if the said declaration matches the information of the National Criminal Records Repository. It is important to understand that the RCMP does not give any additional information on the infraction.
When can I expect my report?
The report will be available within one business hour following the reception of the completed consent form.
- Please note that our business hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST).
If the applicant fails the security questions, manual action will be required by our team. When a manual action is required a delay for the management of the file may apply.
Can I have refund once I sent my request?
Our system is directly connected to the police station, which means that the only time it would be possible to have a partial refund is when the consent form is pending to be completed by the candidate.
